Puja Vidhanam (Poorvangam) – pūjā vidhi – pūrvāṅgam

pūjā vidhānam – pūrvāṅgam

śrī mahāgaṇādhipataye namaḥ |
śrī gurubhyo namaḥ |
hariḥ oṃ |

śuciḥ –
apavitraḥ pavitrovā sarvāvasthāṃ gato’pi vā
yaḥ smaret puṇḍarīkākṣaṃ sa bāhyābhyantaraḥ śuciḥ ||

puṇḍarīkākṣa puṇḍarīkākṣa puṇḍarīkākṣa ||

(namaskāraṃ)
śuklāmbaradharaṃ viṣṇuṃ śaśivarṇaṃ caturbhujam |
prasannavadanaṃ dhyāyet sarva vighnopaśāntaye ||

agajānana padmārkaṃ gajānanamaharniśam |
anekadaṃ taṃ bhaktānāṃ ekadantamupāsmahe ||

de̱vīṃ vāca̍majanayanta de̱vāstāṃ vi̱śvarū̍pāḥ pa̱śavo̍ vadanti |
sā no̍ ma̱ndreṣa̱mūrja̱ṃ duhā̍nā dhe̱nurvāga̱smānupa̱ suṣṭu̱taitu̍ ||

yaśśivo nāma rūpābhyāṃ yā devī sarva maṅgalā |
tayoḥ saṃsmaraṇānnityaṃ sarvadā jaya maṅgalam ||

tadeva lagnaṃ sudinaṃ tadeva tārābalaṃ candrabalaṃ tadeva |
vidyābalaṃ daivabalaṃ tadeva lakṣmīpate te’ṅghriyugaṃ smarāmi ||

gururbrahmā gururviṣṇuḥ gururdevo maheśvaraḥ |
gurussākṣāt parabrahma tasmai śrī gurave namaḥ ||

lābhasteṣāṃ jayasteṣāṃ kutasteṣāṃ parābhavaḥ |
eṣāṃ indīvaraśyāmo hṛdayastho janārdanaḥ ||

sarvamaṅgala māṅgalye śive sarvārtha sādhike |
śaraṇye tryambake gaurī nārāyaṇi namostu te ||

śrī lakṣmī nārāyaṇābhyāṃ namaḥ | umā maheśvarābhyāṃ namaḥ |
vāṇī hiraṇyagarbhābhyāṃ namaḥ | śacī purandarābhyāṃ namaḥ |
arundhatī vaśiṣṭhābhyāṃ namaḥ | śrī sītārāmābhyāṃ namaḥ |
mātā pitṛbhyo namaḥ | sarvebhyo mahājanebhyo namaḥ |

ācamya –
oṃ keśavāya svāhā |
oṃ nārāyaṇāya svāhā |
oṃ mādhavāya svāhā |
oṃ govindāya namaḥ | oṃ viṣṇave namaḥ |
oṃ madhusūdanāya namaḥ | oṃ trivikramāya namaḥ |
oṃ vāmanāya namaḥ | oṃ śrīdharāya namaḥ |
oṃ hṛṣīkeśāya namaḥ | oṃ padmanābhāya namaḥ |
oṃ dāmodarāya namaḥ | oṃ saṅkarṣaṇāya namaḥ |
oṃ vāsudevāya namaḥ | oṃ pradyumnāya namaḥ |
oṃ aniruddhāya namaḥ | oṃ puruṣottamāya namaḥ |
oṃ athokṣajāya namaḥ | oṃ nārasiṃhāya namaḥ |
oṃ acyutāya namaḥ | oṃ janārdanāya namaḥ |
oṃ upendrāya namaḥ | oṃ haraye namaḥ |
oṃ śrī kṛṣṇāya namaḥ |

dīpārādhanam –
dīpastvaṃ brahma rūposi jyotiṣāṃ prabhuravyayaḥ |
saubhāgyaṃ dehi putrāṃśca sarvānkāmāṃśca dehi me ||

bho dīpa devi rūpastvaṃ karma sākṣī hyavighnakṛt |
yāvatpūjāṃ kariṣyāmi tāvatvaṃ susthiro bhava ||

dīpārādhana muhūrtaḥ sumuhūrto’stu |
pūjārthe haridrā kuṅkuma vilepanaṃ kariṣye |

bhūtocchāṭanam –
oṃ uttiṣṭhantu bhūta piśācāḥ ya ete bhūmi bhārakāḥ |
eteṣāmavirodhena brahmakarma samārabhe ||
apasarpantu te bhūtā ye bhūtā bhūmisaṃsthitāḥ |
ye bhūtā vighnakartāraste gacchantu śivā’jñayā ||

prāṇāyāmam –
oṃ bhūḥ | oṃ bhuvaḥ | oṃ suvaḥ | oṃ mahaḥ |
oṃ janaḥ | oṃ tapaḥ | oṃ satyaṃ |
oṃ tatsaviturvareṇyaṃ bhargo devasya dhīmahi dhiyo yo naḥ pracodayāt |
omāpo jyotī rasomṛtaṃ brahma bhūrbhuvassuvarom |

saṅkalpam –
mama upātta samasta duritakṣaya dvārā śrī parameśvaramuddiśya śrī parameśvara prītyarthaṃ śubhābhyāṃ śubhe śobhane muhūrte śrī mahāviṣṇorājñayā pravartamānasya adya brahmaṇaḥ dvitīya parārthe śvetavarāha kalpe vaivasvata manvantare kaliyuge prathamapāde jambūdvīpe bhāratavarṣe bharatakhaṇḍe meroḥ dakṣiṇa digbhāge śrīśailasya ___ pradeśe ___, ___ nadyoḥ madhya pradeśe lakṣmī nivāsa gṛhe samasta devatā brāhmaṇa ācārya hari hara guru caraṇa sannidhau asmin vartamane vyāvaharika cāndramānena śrī ____ nāma saṃvatsare ___ ayane ___ ṛtau ___ māse ___ pakṣe ___ tithau ___ vāsare ___ nakṣatre ___ yoge ___ karaṇa evaṃ guṇa viśeṣaṇa viśiṣṭāyāṃ śubhatithau śrīmān ___ gotrodbhavasya ___ nāmadheyasya (mama dharmapatnī śrīmataḥ ___ gotrasya ___ nāmadheyaḥ sametasya) mama/asmākaṃ sahakuṭumbasya kṣema sthairya dhairya vīrya vijaya abhaya āyuḥ ārogya aiśvara abhivṛddhyarthaṃ dharma artha kāma mokṣa caturvidha puruṣārtha phala siddhyarthaṃ dhana kanaka vastu vāhana samṛddhyarthaṃ sarvābhīṣṭa siddhyarthaṃ śrī _____ uddiśya śrī _____ prītyarthaṃ sambhavadbhiḥ dravyaiḥ sambhavadbhiḥ upacāraiśca sambhavatā niyamena sambhavitā prakāreṇa yāvacchakti dhyāna āvāhanādi ṣoḍaśopacāra* pūjāṃ kariṣye ||

ādau nirvighnena pūjā parisamāptyarthaṃ śrī mahāgaṇapati pūjāṃ kariṣye |

tadaṅga kalaśārādhanaṃ kariṣye |

kalaśārādhanam –
kalaśe gandha puṣpākṣatairabhyarcya |
kalaśe udakaṃ pūrayitvā |
kalaśasyopari hastaṃ nidhāya |

oṃ kalaśasya mukhe viṣṇuḥ kaṇṭhe rudraḥ samāśritaḥ
mūle tatra sthito brahma madhye mātṛgaṇāśritā |
kukṣautu sāgarāḥ sarve saptadvīpā vasundharā
ṛgvedo’tha yajurvedo sāmavedo hyatharvaṇaḥ |
aṅgaiśca sahitāḥ sarve kalaśāmbu samāśritāḥ |

oṃ āka̱laśe̎ṣu dhāvati pa̱vitre̱ pari̍ṣicyate |
u̱kthairya̱jñeṣu̍ vardhate |

āpo̱ vā i̱dagṃ sarva̱ṃ viśvā̍ bhū̱tānyāpa̍:
prā̱ṇā vā āpa̍: pa̱śava̱ āpo’nna̱māpo’mṛ̍ta̱māpa̍:
sa̱mrāḍāpo̍ vi̱rāḍāpa̍: sva̱rāḍāpa̱śchandā̱g̱syāpo̱
jyotī̱g̱ṣyāpo̱ yajū̱g̱ṣyāpa̍: sa̱tyamāpa̱:
sarvā̍ de̱vatā̱ āpo̱ bhūrbhuva̱: suva̱rāpa̱ om |

gaṅge ca yamune kṛṣṇe godāvarī sarasvatī |
narmade sindhu kāverī jalesmin sannidhiṃ kuru |

kāverī tuṅgabhadrā ca kṛṣṇaveṇī ca gautamī |
bhāgīrathī ca vikhyātāḥ pañca gaṅgāḥ prakīrtitāḥ |

āyāntu śrī ____ pūjārthaṃ mama durita kṣayakārakāḥ
oṃ oṃ oṃ kalaśodakena pūjā dravyāṇi samprokṣya,
devaṃ samprokṣya, ātmānaṃ ca samprokṣya ||

śaṅkha pūjā –
kalaśodakena śaṅkhaṃ pūrayitvā |
śaṅkhe gandhakuṅkumapuṣpatulasīpatrairalaṅkṛtya |

śaṅkhaṃ candrārka daivataṃ madhye varuṇa devatām |
pṛṣṭhe prajāpatiṃ vindyādagre gaṅgā sarasvatīm ||

trailokyeyāni tīrthāni vāsudevasyadadrayā |
śaṅkhe tiṣṭhantu viprendrā tasmāt śaṅkhaṃ prapūjayet ||

tvaṃ purā sāgarotpanno viṣṇunā vidhṛtaḥ kare |
pūjitaḥ sarvadevaiśca pāñcajanya namo’stu te ||

garbhādevārinārīṇāṃ viśīryante sahasradhā |
navanādenapātāle pāñcajanya namo’stu te ||

oṃ śaṅkhāya namaḥ | oṃ dhavalāya namaḥ |
oṃ pāñcajanyāya namaḥ | oṃ śaṅkha devatābhyo namaḥ |
sakala pūjārthe akṣatān samarpayāmi ||

ghaṇṭa pūjā –
oṃ jayadhvani mantramātaḥ svāhā |
ghaṇṭadevatābhyo namaḥ |
sakalopacāra pūjārthe akṣatān samarpayāmi |

ghaṇṭanādam |
āgamārthaṃ tu devānāṃ gamanārthaṃ tu rākṣasām |
ghaṇṭāravaṃ karomyādau deva āhvāna lāñcanam ||

iti ghaṇṭānādaṃ kṛtvā ||

We understand puja or pooja is a ritual to offer devotional homage and prayers to one or more deities to celebrate an event with an enticing variety of pooja products.
